Why Order Travel Money With TUI?
How to make the most of your Peruvian nuevo sols on holiday
If you’re planning a trip to Peru, you’re going to want to arrange some spending money for your holiday. The national currency is the Peruvian nuevo sol, which is used only in Peru.
The exchange rate for Peruvian nuevo sols varies day by day, but the average rate in early 2023 was around PEN 4.37 to the pound.
Where to get your nuevo sols
To make sure you get the best exchange rate, get your PEN – also just called sols – before you go. Order them from us online, or check out your nearest TUI Store for a quick and easy exchange service.
Spending your sols
ATMs are available in Peruvian towns and cities, airports and malls, and most major credit cards are accepted. You’ll need cash for street stalls, though, where haggling is common. You might spend 200 sols or more a day, depending on activities, so to help work out your budget, try our handy TUI calculator.
Tipping is mainly up to you, but 10% is good if you like the restaurant service, plus something for porters, tour guides and drivers, if they help with your luggage.
