A guide to using Japanese yen

Japan is a country that blends the ultra-modern with the ancient. Some areas you visit, including cities and big towns, will readily accept credit or debit cards. In the rural areas, you’ll need to have some cash.

If you’re looking to save money, there are plenty of budget options when it comes to travel, activities and food in Japan.
